Hubby just got done with the interview an hour ago...what a relief!! Interview went well and application approved.The interviewer was a Canadian lady and the interview lasted for 2 hours.. I was eagerly waiting for their call here in Canada but they didnt call me.. She asked him few details about me, dob, job,salary,address,phone number,hobbies... She took the whole 2 hours by just looking at the proofs.. My husband took 4 big albums of our marriage and some small albums.. She actually went through each and every picture and each and every proof thoroughly... At the end she said that she is satisfied that our marriage is genuine and she sent us the remedical request right away and said that we will get the passport request within 10 days after they receive the medicals.. Cant describe the feeling right now .. I would suggest everyone to carry a lot of proofs and photos with you to the interview.. Wish everyone all the very best for your applications and interviews.. :) :) :)

Hey congrats on getting done with it. I know its a big relief. We also are scheduled for interview in march. would you like to share the reason of the interview.? As we dont know the reason and we dont have time to apply for the notes. Please and thanks.

Regards.

The S.15(1) on notes indicates that your security has been cleared, secured and completed.

This is also an indication that you are not recommended for an interview as well - **Recommend Interview Waiver**
There is a different code for those in the interview queue.

Just curious what could be eligible for disclosure exemption under section 16(1)(c)

Thanks RV25!
After reading further at my notes, When the NVDO did review my file on Nov 30th, my first medical was expired, but I had proactively sent the send re-medical in June. But the re-medical was scanned and trashed and was not put in physical file. Had my remedical was put in physical file the decision would have been made in Nov itself. Now my file is eating dust for the final review by officer. I think my file is up for final review by officer CM03747. I dont know who this person is. But he is screwing up our life.

I am jus wondering about this interview process. Does the applicant there have to go into the New Delhi for the interview?
The pace at which they are going is outrageous for us waiting in the dark.

I don't know what to do!
We had almost the same thing happen to us. Re-medical email sent in September, and we never got it. I only learned about it at the end of October when I received a copy of the notes.

I sent a case specific enquiry and contacted my MP several times. It took nearly 2 months for NDVO to re-send it. My wife's file was delayed for 3 months for no reason at all.

Send a case specific enquiry, but also send a copy of the e-mail to delhi-mc@international.gc.ca. That is the email for the medical department (posted on this forum by vermas), and I emailed them on that address to ask if they received the medical results. I got a reply the SAME DAY acknowledging that they received it, so we're just waiting for DM/PPR now.

I'm starting to think that if I had known about that e-mail address sooner, we could have saved 2 months!

@Shining Moon,

Sorry, are you asking what section 16(1)(c) implies and/or means to?

I believe that is the code NDVO uses if your application is assigned to the interview queue as per the review of the 1st officer at NDVO. It will than be assigned off to a 2nd level officer that will take a deeper look into your file and he/she will be the one to recommend if an interview is required or not based on the information/notes that was given by the 1st officer. These codes are related to different queue sections.

I dont think you could have saved any time. I think depending on how lazy your officer is they take upto 3 months to review application after they make any kind of document request.
We sent re-medical before request, lazy officer dint even bother to check online system, we clarified within 10 days of notes updated by officer, but still in queue for the final review. In CIC lazy officer are more common. In few of cases few lucky people get DM quickly after remedical.

@Spiker79,

Were you instructed on re-medicals from NDVO or did you complete them on your own without instructions??

Oh, ok. Makes sense. I'll try replying to them and ask for more information, though.

When NDVO called me the day they re-sent her meds request, the caller told me that the medical was the last step, and once they had it, her file would be finalized.

I believe that everything on my wife's file is done, and it's just collecting dust waiting for PPR. The notes I ordered (should come in a week or so) should confirm that, I think.

He wrote in his post that they did it without being asked by NDVO. But many doctor's offices will refuse to do it without the paperwork. While we were waiting for NDVO to re-send my wife's re-meds request, I asked the doctor's office, and they refused to do it.

The other problem is (like in Spiker79's case), when you do it without being asked, they don't check for it, and send you the request anyway.

Damned if you do, damned if you don't. :(

And that is exactly the reason why you should not do re-medicals without instructions and must wait until you are instructed by NDVO - in this case.

That is why in Spiker79 notes it indicated they scanned and trashed it and did not put it in the physical file - they will not accept it unless the instructions are coming from NDVO.

I have seen many people who have sent upfront re-medicals without request and they file was finalized without problem, I have also seen many people like me who upfront remedical were not looked into. I have also seen many people who sent upon request whose file were held upto 3 months. Basically all the combinations.

When we point it to MP Office that we had submitted re-med without request they CIC corrected it. But still need final review by CIC officer.

In cases like this they dont have any specific guidelines and hence cant be held responsible. When I submitted I knew this would be worst case scenario, but I want to submit just in can case a good officer looks into the system and will do the needful.

In summary, only way to get around this remedical issue is once your file reached NewDelhi Office first time you get medical request which is automated message. If you submit it then most of people remed issue will go away. But otherwise there is no fool proof way of doing this. But unfortunaltely is country specific guide NDVO has made medical mandatory while submitting application which I think is a huge mistake.
