sunnycool - oh sunny it does look like its the same VO processing our files together and what a coincidence it is. I am just surprised they mentioned the VO's full name I thought its kept private..

ManjitandJasteven - Yes we ordered the notes after we got the re-medical request and you should definitely order it but I am confident it will say interview waved and by the time the notes arrive you would have got the PPR and landed :)

preetiv - haha I know right what a coincidence must be the same VO

To all others these seem to be the main point the VO verifies the relationship.
hai u ordered notes after re medicals u got the notes so soon is it.
that's amazing
even i have applied for 2nd set of notes its been 20 days till now i didn't receive :(
Will try e mailing them

1) A visitor record is a piece of paper from CIC/CBSA saying that you must leave Canada by a certain date. If you get one from CBSA at the port of entry, I think you have to report to CBSA on your departure date, or a Canada-wide warrant will be issued for your arrest.

2) If you really want one, you could ask CBSA, but they might question why you want it. Why would you need a visitor record for insurance? Can't you just show a copy of the visa and entry stamp? (That's what we did for my wife's health insurance)

Yes, first time they issued me insurance on passport visa stamp, my wife went back to India last month and she is coming back in Nov, rules are changed now.. for insurance they need visitor record now onwards. :( . I called CBSA but the person was not sure, he told me that CBSA guys at port of entry are immigration trained too only they can answer this.

Very confused what to do.. please advise

What kind of insurance is this? Is it provincial health insurance, private medical insurance, or travel insurance from India?

This doesn't make much sense to me. Visitor records are not issued to visitors most of the time, so why would this be a requirement? I mean, if you really need/want one, you can ask CBSA at the point of entry. But you should explain why you need it.

The other negative point is that the VR forces you to leave Canada by a certain date, so you're losing a lot of flexibility if you get one.

You are right. I just checked for MY wife's health insurance, as we're approaching the 6 month mark on it, and I need to get it extended. Even though we took a trip to the US, they said they don't accept re-entry stamps on the same visa.

Is your wife coming on the same TRV as last time, or is it a new one? If its a new one, you are all good. But if its the same one with a second entry, they don't accept it. Apparently we have to ask CIC for a visit extension and get a visitor record...like, seriously? She has a TRV that's good for FOUR MORE YEARS!!! (Are governments capable of rational thought?)

Such a pain...if NDVO would just process her PR, all of my problems would be solved.

She is having Multiple entry visa.. 6 months from her first entry is going to expire in 10 days.. so next month when she will come it will be a new stamp. but I talked with Health and they told me only 1 time they are issuing health coverage based on passport stamp. Next time they need Visitor record.

I went to US 2 times but if your are going to US, it will not reset the clock ( no new stamp). So need a visitor record.

Checked with CIC they said you can ask at airport but if you need from us the wait time is 6 months. checked with CBSA on phone and the person was not aware of visitor record, he said its immigration task and only CBSA person at port of entry can answer as they are specially trained.

Do you have to get provincial health coverage? Why cant you just get it from the insurance providers like TD?
