Hey everyone!
Does anyone have idea about how CIC conducts the various checks like security, criminality and background checks?
And how much time does it generally take for these checks to get cleared?

Hey congrats!! Did you get IP or DM? It is directly passport request? Your medical is also expired.

hey,congratulations skale ...what is ur application received date 14sep or 4sep

My original application date is 5 th September...However one of my form was older version so they asked me to resubmit..thts y I was considering my date as Sep 14.. which is when I submitted the upgraded form..

But on the application status on CIC it showed Sep. 5 as my application received date.. so I guess they considered my original date

FYI... I applied for sponsorship application for my wife and application date is 15-Sep-2014. Yesterday, my wife's parents in India got a call from New Delhi office asking about some questions. Then my wife who stays with me in Canada on TRV got a call from NDVO and she was asked the same questions and then NDVO officer told her that our medicals are expiring by July 27th and she asked my wife whether she can complete the landing before that if she sends mail for passport request and my wife accepted. Officer told my wife that she will be receiving the mail for passport request some time today.

We are still waiting for the mail. But online status still no change and status is still "Application Received". Not sure this is normal or not.

Then my wife who stays with me in Canada on TRV got a call from NDVO and she was asked the same questions and then NDVO officer told her that our medicals are expiring by July 27th and she asked my wife whether she can complete the landing before that if she sends mail for passport request and my wife accepted. Officer told my wife that she will be receiving the mail for passport request some time today.

We are still waiting for the mail. But online status still no change and status is still "Application Received". Not sure this is normal or not.

Hey that is great news. Can you share how your wife was contacted if she was in Canada? Did you give an Indian cell number or Canadian?

I guess you will be submitting her passport in Canada itself to CPC-Ottawa and going to the US border to get the PR stamp. Let us know what the process is.

Congrats and thanks for the update. Ecas is not the most reliable and is not updated frequently or in real time so nothing to worry about.

They update every week I believe on Tuesdays so maybe next Tuesday it will say DM

NDVO contacted my number in Canada and they asked for my wife. However I already changed my wife's mobile number to Canadian number but it was not updated in the records it seems. I will be submitting the passport to Ottawa office after receiving the mail and will cross US border for landing
