My husband send passport to delhi on 8th April 2015 for spousal visa category.
Does anyone have any idea how long they would take to return the passport back.
I would really appreciate your feedbacks.

From what I have observed, once NDVO touches the file , many cases get completed in a minimum of 1 month to 4-5 months. Based on GCMS notes, it is obvious they don't do anything before the day they give IP, no background checks are initiated, nothing.
Once they pass eligibility, I don't think they do any security check, they most likely look at all the police clearance , probably checking our name against some criminal database. I don't even think they ask any external agency to check most of our files. may be they do this for few cases.
So they don't need more than a couple of months to finalize our Apps. But they take so long and screw many lives.

All they need is more human resource. I will be so happy to volunteer for free to do some clerical work. As such few of us are sitting idle

same i had also submitted passport to vfs on 8th April but still it didnt came..

Yes I ordered twice . I received latest on April 13 which was ordered on mar 12.
Nothing was started.

Eligibility criminality security .. Not started. But I got ip last week. So if I order notes again I will mostly see eligibility passed.
Since SA , for last 6 months file was just sitting. Once they open file it does not take long unless interview or if VO is lazy.
They should hire more workers at least seasonal workers to help with case load. They take so much fees
