naonidh - There are over 150 Canadian and Indian employees working for CIC in NDVO. There are different sections for TRV (visitor visa)/Student program, Family class, Refugee class, FSW etc. So the statement that staff are busy with old cases and student files is baseless. Moreover, new sessions in Canada start in Feb and Aug/Sep, so student rush is over now. Students are already in their classes. Student rush will start again in July.

Ordering GCMS notes has no adverse impact on the file. I applied and got thrice during my PR process. On two occasions I found one mistake each and sent mail to VO for overlooking facts (they had forgotten to give me 5 points for my uncle in Canada and also made a comment that my salary was low when I was on PG work permit, VO didnt pay attention to employment letter as I was getting my salary, bus/subway pass and two meals. Both these omissions were corrected after my representation supported with documentary evidences.

Hi,

I have applied for the notes today.
Can you tell me in how much time I will receive the notes?
Does it really takes 30 days as mentioned?
yes it takes exactly 30 days. If they require any docs, then they will request it.

My wife is PR in canada. i got married in INDIA. My file is approved at mississauga and it is transffered on 19th September 2014 in NEW DELHI for next process.
after transffered 1st Oct'14 require PCC letter receive in New Delhi. i have submited PCC on next week after received requirement letter.
as of now, still no any update how much time to wait medical request and Passport request.
please help.
Hi welcome to the forum. As of now we all believe July applicants are being processed although there have been no updates for more than a month.
What is your application received date ?

Most of us do Upfront medicals. May be you will receive Medical request when they begin processing your application but it is going to cause slight delay. Then ecas status has to change to In Process and then only PPR. This is the usual process.

Just making a detailed post on How to apply GCMS / ATIP notes.

  • Only a person who is in Canada can request the notes.
  • If principal applicant is in Canada, he/she can request for himself and apply for free under Privacy Act.
    • If sponsor is requesting it on behalf of Principal applicant, you need consent form from PA and $5 fee. You can receive consent form from spouse thru email and upload it. Apply under Access to Information Act.

totally agreed. But the silver lining is that once they begin processing, its going to go quickly for us provided we are in the 80% applicants.

Guys can we all please sign these petitions. The inland petition got about 2475 signatures and CIC took notice.
In this Information Age, it should be easy to gather as many signatures pretty quickly. Doing this sitting in comfort of our homes or office should not be a difficult task. Some us have 2 or more email id's. Please sign with as many as possible. we can gather 4 signatures per household easily.

There is about 60 and 170 signs in these 2 petitions. Lets increase that number please

One of my friend had it application in AR for 9 months. Then within 1 month he received back passport with VISA. so overall his process was around 10.5 months.. i am hoping same thing to happen with us now..
