they r giving so many updates on one day and then don't work till 1 week..!!!!!!

thank you for your advice mariym...we'll discuss with the lawyer and go ahead with your suggestion....I understand we have to remain strong....tomorrow is my 5th wedding anniversary and my child is sick so its kind of sucking....but aas you said to stay strong as there are people like me too...take good care

My lawyer emailed NDVO and they called him my wife's file was received on Nov 21 and was sent to new delhi in jan just got to know now. Is that normal that a file is sent to NDVo after more then 1 and a half month and does the countdown to 13 months begins from Nov or Jan. I just want to confirm what you guys tell me and what he is telling me. and yes still no request to send passport.

If its says we received ur application for pr of canada 21 nov..then u r nov applicant. .nd yes it is normal for move a file to ndvo in 1 month or more...
Ur countdown begins from nov to 13 months..n it is normal for nov applicants still no request for passport. ...
Now its a long procedure so be positive n hv some patience...gud luck

Unfortunately, according to CIC website (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/perm-fc.asp) the 13 month countdown begins from the time NDVO receives the application (After step 1 - sponsorship approval) and not from the time the application was made. Hence it will be January, and not November in your case. Be strong and hang in there guys.

Did you apply for notes?

But I am sure even before the result of your notes arrive, you should hear something about your file..

Hey. received my wifs's passport/visa today.

Here are the timelines. I was a silent consumer of this thread lately.

Application received 20 July.
Passport request 9 Sept
Visitor visa applied in between/approved and she came here for 5 months in Sep
Status changed to in process 24 april
Decision made 26 April
Passport received 1nd May.


Thanks everyone, wish everyone get speedy visa. I know it shouldnt be more than 3 months for spousal applications but hopefully CIC work on cutting the time in future. please be patient, patience is the key. I know its very hard specially for wives waiting there, but be strong, calm and keeping close is the key. sometimes things take time, don't curse your husband. everyone will get the visa. I would recommend that prepare yourself by improving your language skill or any other skills in the mean time will help you settle easily in canada. it's not an easy life in canada but focus, prepration and hardwork will make you successful and life a breeze. May the force be with you. Thanks. Wish you you luck again.

But I am sure even before the result of your notes arrive, you should hear something about your file..

I did MP inquiry 1st week of April and found out that they had not touched my file and it was still waiting for "initial review" and this was when NDVO was half way through July applications.

I am also September applicant, sent my passport on 17 november
Status still shows application received

I am also 30th Sep applicant, my e case status show application received on 30th sep and medical results have been received nothing else... worst part is my meds are expiring tomorrow
