Hi Robin, it is really unfortunate that you are in this situation.. And now you can't enjoy your holidays because you will be stressed about your situation.
On the plus side and most likely, you won't be called for an interview because you are already in IP. But I would still suggest that you personally go back to India and submit the passport. Because, what if they want you to pick it up form NDVO? And how will you get it back if it can't be couriered and they mail it to your address in India?
Your employer should already know about your PR application so they should also understand that you will need extended leave or to quit your job. Hope everything works out for you.

So I am considering this option of somehow finding a friend to hand it over in India and my people
there will take care of sending it to NDVo and get it back from them to their address.. and then find someone else flying to US and deliver it back to me..

I hope my absence in India isn't an issue...

Like you said if they call me for anything (I didn't know even this could happen!!!!!), I'll be in trouble....

One stop solution to avoid all confusions looks like to be me flying to India... but at the cost of my job :/

So I just got back from the MP enquiry and this is what they said
I just received a response from CIC to our inquiry last week regarding the status of your wife's file.

They have verified the file was received on April 18, 2013 at the Case Processing Centre in Mississauga, Ontario and, that eligibility was met and correspondence was sent to the sponsor by e-mail on May 15, 2013.

The file was transferred to the Canadian visa office in New Delhi, India, on May 24, 2013 and the processing time are approximately twelve (12) months.

We have confirmation from the visa office that the passport has been received and has been attached to the file.

The background checks have not yet begun.

I hope this information is helpful. If you require more information please contact us.

We will keep your file opened and monitor it so that we can be sure your file is being processed in a timely manner. This email indicates the file will not be finished until May, 2014.

So they have not begun the background checks as well wonder what order these guys do it on? Why cant they finish all the steps before going to the next one...This is bloody ridiculous.....May 2014 ...probably will be seeing my wife wanting to divorce me!!!!

Hang in there dude! Do not Eva mention the above (divorce)Eva again! We are all waiting there are ppl from 2012 awaiting as well and they are already processing may applicants! Seriously we guys can all do is just wait and see how and when they process.

Don't be so harsh on urself or ur relation.. It needs a lot of patience and it needs a lot of patience to keep patient as well.

Good luck and Babaji bless us all x

I guess my lawyer wud have told me this option of applying in US if its there even for temporary immigrants...
Even if there is a possibility as such it too late, My app is in IP at NDVO.

Hello Robin
Sorry but the lawyers are the least interested in your case. They are only interested in money to be honest. You have to do your homework as well no matter what they say. Having blind faith in lawyers is the biggest mistake in my opinion....

Just got reply back from my MP as well. A bit genereric and a bit specific.

The DMP that did my wife's medical has mistakenly noted it as if it is for FSW while it was for FAM. So I asked if CIC corrected this (as I mentioned it in all coverletters). The following is the reply, what do you guys think?:

First, the error on the medical form has been corrected. Secondly, your file is in queue to be reviewed by an Immigration Officer (cant really tell if it is initial review or what). You have been approved as a sponsor in Mississauga on June 28th, 2013 and then the file has been transferred to New Delhi. The processing time in New Delhi is 12 months. Unfortunately, we cannot expedite the processing of any immigration application.

My reply:

Thank you very much for youre email and enquiring NDVO on behalf of me. Really appreciate it. However, I must say I am very disappointed with their reply.

First of all, I am very happy to learn that they corrected the error on the medical form. I am dumbfounded that CIC/NDVO is putting the 12 months processing time in our faces. This is not only unacceptable but very unreasonable to make families suffer like this with no transparency whatsoever. I am a tax paying citizen of this country and I have every right to bring my wife to this country with in a reasonable amount of time. This application is for spousal application not for skilled worker or open work permit.

I wanted to specifically know if any one at NDVO even opened the file? Is the interview waived? To tell us us that it is in queue makes no grand sense as we all know applications are queued.

I would like to request an appointment with the MP's office to express my concerns.

I thank you once again for enquiring on my behalf and I look forward to hear from you soon.

Sincerely,

Disgrunted Canadian.

If its already above 30 days for 1st stage, you are better off calling CIC.... They made mistake in my email address so I never received any update for stage 1 which they corrected after I called them......
And for PPR, my wife received the email in her spam folder so also keep an eye on Junk or Spam folder.

Did not sleep yet Myrah7? No, I do know the status and dynamics, but I want the MP to answer. If I have more time, I would be pressing these guys to the point, they will get me arrested. But I am busy with work also and all my energy is being spent to keep things cool.

I think Canada is the longest to sponsor a spouse....all the other countries it takes like 1 or 2 months......the great Canada basically not happy with spouses from outside.....
