Yes this seems to be your PPR so send your passport with the GCMS notes and a letter stating what happened with your email being incorrect. Also ask if they can correct it after receipt of the letter.

Hey Helpers

I have one question, I got ppr but my passport is gone for my study permit renewal in canada.rite now i am in canada.Does they start with the medical and background check or they wait for the passport ?

Send NDVO an email saying that you are student abroad and you need to keep your passport for now. Ask them to request again at final stages of processing. Some applicants have done that. It may delay the process a little bit but at least you aren't stuck in Canada if you had to make a quick trip and needed your passport.
