if we survey 10 people on the issue of PR holder being out of Canada, there will be 12 different answers...according to my lawyer there is no rule in CIC book that says I should not leave Canada if my part of sponsorship is approved (and I always trust lawyers...lol..if she is wrong and I have problem getting back to Canada, a lawsuit is waiting to happen..maybe it is about time I sue somebody and make money) If you are a Canadian citizen you can apply from anywhere as long as you can show that you have strong ties back in Canada (like a job offer; house in Canada that you own; or some other solid proof that you will be back in Canada). If you are a PR then you should wait until your part of sponsorship is approved and then you are free to go...in fact according to my lawyer, if a sponsor is residing in sponsored person's home till the process is over it shows that there is a strong bond between them and it works out in your favor (maybe my lawyer told me these things so that I would stop bugging her about my application and be out of her sight)

Lol :D :D :D
Thanks for your reply...I think i agree with your lawyer as it is quite logical to visit ur wife and obviously understands that they have a strong bonding between them...so finally i can atleast visit my wife which m planning in jan/feb 14..and hopefully she will get her visa duringthat time so we can fly together to Canada..oohhh woow amazing just flying in my dreams ;D ;D ;D...wake up :o :-X

Hi all,
:) :) :)
Good news today from my side...As my wifes medical are expiring in the next 2 weeks, got a call from NDVO to come and pick up the passport. They gave my wife next monday appointment to pick it up. He said he will issue the visa, we will have to come and pick it up.

file is in process from - Aug 21

congrats..atleast NDVO is sensitive to people whose medicals are going to expire..though the timing was too short and your wife has to rush to Canada, it could be worse..NDVO could have asked your wife to redo the medicals and the waiting extended

Is it true ? ? ? ?

But when my wife made request last month she paid $5. Bcoz in the end of filling all the information online that website led her to the web-page where she has to pay $5.

My wife is Canadian Citizen by birth.

It depends on the act we choose to apply. See below.

Access to Information Act:
The purpose of the Access to Information Act is to provide a right of access to records under the control of a government institution to Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or any individual or corporation present in Canada.

The application fee is $5.00.

Under this Act, you can access all government records (which includes corporate documents, as well as personal information).

Privacy Act:

The purpose of the Privacy Act is to protect the privacy of individuals with respect to personal information about themselves where it is held by a government institution and to provide individuals with the right to access such information.

There are no fees under the Privacy Act.

Under this Act, only personal information may be accessed.

Hey , how do you that your medicals expire on Nov 2nd ?? can you please share is this the date you gave your medicals or it is given in your notes or some where else or the person who called you mentioned it??

I was under the impression that after we give medicals, the doctor have to process and then send to NDVO and it usually takes 2 to 3 weeks after we give medicals and the exact expiry date is given on the GCMS notes...correct me if I am wrong.

example my wife gave medicals on last week of Dec 2012 and the expiry on GCMS notes is given as last week of Jan 2014...one month after the medicals date.

BTW congrats on your VISA.
