your part has been approved and you are waiting for sponsored person's approval..so you are free to go...make sure you meet requirements from Indian side (if you don't have OCI then you can stay up to 6 months on tourist visa) if you are non Indian citizen..you may have to stay for awhile till you get sponsored person's approval..current approval time is any time from 8 months from applying date (or is it when file transferred to New Delhi?) to more than 1 year (or before your medicals expire)

Hello Friends
Today Tuesday Evening but no good news. :P :P :P

patience grasshopper....Taj Mahal and Rome were not built in one day..modern examples - fixing Indian sewage system before the monsoon was not done in one day (they wait till next monsoon); underground Indian telecommunications laying not done in one day (but in years); corrections in Indian voter list takes years not days..you should have so much patience so that water buffaloes should be ashamed of themselves..but seriously tomorrow will be an awesome day with so many DMs..where is Myrah to back me up?

I don't know how far that is true....I had heard that if you are a Canadian citizen then you can apply for the visa anywhere wither in Canada or anywhere else but if the sponsor is a PR holder then you can only apply only when resident of Canada.
That being said I have heard that only if you are a PR holder you should not travel outside too much after the application that may cause issues....but I don't know how far that is true. For a citizen it is ok.

I have just called the cic in canada and asked them they said it is absolutely fine to visit ur wife in india unless you ensure that the PR norms are fullfilled like 2yrs of stay in 5yrs period.. :)

if we survey 10 people on the issue of PR holder being out of Canada, there will be 12 different answers...according to my lawyer there is no rule in CIC book that says I should not leave Canada if my part of sponsorship is approved (and I always trust lawyers...lol..if she is wrong and I have problem getting back to Canada, a lawsuit is waiting to happen..maybe it is about time I sue somebody and make money) If you are a Canadian citizen you can apply from anywhere as long as you can show that you have strong ties back in Canada (like a job offer; house in Canada that you own; or some other solid proof that you will be back in Canada). If you are a PR then you should wait until your part of sponsorship is approved and then you are free to go...in fact according to my lawyer, if a sponsor is residing in sponsored person's home till the process is over it shows that there is a strong bond between them and it works out in your favor (maybe my lawyer told me these things so that I would stop bugging her about my application and be out of her sight)
