Below is the response I got from my MP today morning:

CASE STATUS: This application is currently awaiting initial review by a visa officer, following which we will contact the applicant directly to advise of any additional information or action required.

this is very bad, if they are still doing initial review in my case.

I was expecting something better...any one here got similar response??

Guys..I have a question.

When I see the list of Applicants ..some are Jan applicants..some March applicants...so on. So does it mean..this is the month they Sent their File/Application to Missisauga..or this is the month their file was transferred to NDVO ?

month they sent their application........if u notice even e-cas says the same ....ppl are getting it by application date only.... but again ndvo is pickin up random files...

only 2 applicants went to inprocess-dm-pp with visa both 4th april applicants......nothing more has happened with april files at least in this forum and on trackitt...

hey that's pathetic.......but again don't loose hope roam....coz from initial review to dm doesn't take too much time....if they want they can do it within 1 week.....u are feb applicant u shld be hearing good news very soon now....sorry but some mp's are really lazy .... to tell u the truth !! hope u get your visa very very soon !!

Look at my timeline, its very similar to mine. Likewise i didn't receive my passport request in march. But I received a call from NDVO on Aug 6. I check my mail 10 times daily, i will not miss it. I think NDVO made a mistake in their mailing system. I applied for GCMS notes and found out that they have fail to notify me to send the passport. I'm still waiting. No news yet!!!

Hey ankgs!! Any updates?? When will they pick up our files??

Well it clearly says in the application package that they need pcc for countries where applicant lived more than 6 months... Then why u wanna wait... But yea its upto you...

Ya i knw. Only thing i am not sure abt is if there is anything bad in me sending canadian pcc to ndvo now without them asking for it.
And other thing i read on rcmp website, they will need my wife's fingerprints from india on this certain form signed my police official from india. I am not even sure if police will take fingerprints and confirm it for third party.
I am confused noww !!
Does anyone had to go through this ? Any suggestions ?

my M.P. assistant said the same but with a gentle warning not to contact them until Dec 2013....if Feb applicant's application is under review, not sure when May applicant's application would be processed....don't despair there are cases where applicant application turned into decision made in no time (some cases the ecas status was still application received even after people received their visas). Someone will get a nobel prize if they find out a mathematical equation for estimating visa approval..something like evt=vom+aplk where evt is for estimated visa time = visa officer's mood + applicant's luck.

Seriously... Atleast they can follow this equation. Will be helpful for us to atleast calculate something for us to give peace of mind, instead of just waiting in the dark.
