Thank you Gupta, I am a PR in Canada and do I still need to pay 5 CAD. Also, I got the mail saying to send the form with my wife signature. Can I request a new GCMS or should I send the form with the old one.
Ofcourse you need to pay 5 CAD. Only citizens can request for free... you may either reply them by sending them consent form signed by your wife... or you may place a new request all over again... anything should be fine... and if you are mailing them with consent form, make sure to send payment receipt as well, along with consent form, if you have not sent it earlier. Or else they may mail you again asking for this 5 dollar payment, which will waste some more time of yours.

Singapore Police Clearance

We were asked for Police Clearance from Singapore by CIC - actually they asked Police Clearance from all the countries and Singapore happens to be one for us. CIC says on their website that Singapore does not just give Police Clearance upon request. They have to have a letter from CIC - so we requested CIC to send us a request letter which we can forward to Singapore Police to get this certificate or clearance. We sent this letter to CIC along with our passports last month - but have not heard back. Does anyone have any experience with Singapore Police Clearance?

Wow!!!!!!! What a joke Kenney is no longer the minister for immigration now Chris Alexander is the current minister as of the shuffle.

What is this going to do now. More bad news dammit
bad news?????? I guess it is good for all of us.. there was not much progress with the old minister.. atleast this new minister may resolve the issue soon... and this will be one of his top most item in his "things to do" list.

With all due respect - I dont think it is as easy to just reverse decision made by an erstwhile minister. It is the immigration office's decision - yes it was influenced heavily by Jason Kenney (Mostly or entirely) - but the fact remains that it is the office's decision. So I would not hold my breath for the new minister to come and rescue immigration policies.

But maybe someone with a different perspective will view things differently. In this case though it seems it is the entire conservative Gov'ts decision not to negotiate with unions. I think they do not want to set a precedent. What I dont get is what is the end solution in that case? Just let things drag on and hope people go back to work on their own? Seems like a very flawed position..
