I said around 18 or 19th. He said 18th would be fine. Then he said how much time it would take if he sends the passport through speed post to my address at Kolkata. I said at most 2 days. He said then he would send the passport through speed post at that would reach faster than me going to delhi on 18th. He then read out my address and asked me to confirm it. I did and thanked Richard.

So friends..... I am tooooooo happy today..... just cant imagine how things have gone for the last 5 days.... I thank u all friends..... I am ever thankful to God and I sincerely wish that everyone will get through very soon.....

Hi..

Any idea..why the things are not moving fast in my application. The details are mentioned below.
CAP application is already submitted and waiting for result. Re-medical and police certificate second time submitted on April 2013. What are further options other then bugging MP, sending inquires which they never reply and CAPS considering following time line
Application in Canada : 10th April 2012
1Step Result successful : 13th July 2012
Passport request and file transfer to Delhi - 26th July - 2012
File taken on process: March 22, 2013
Re medical and PCC request - first week of April 2013
Re-medica and PCC submitted - 17th April 2013 - status updated to medical received.

Our status is "In Process" from 10th of March 2013 and they are holding passport from 30th July 2012. First marriage and no traveling. How long we will have to wait like this........ What else can we do about it......

Now again i got a tweet from one of the employee is "next week they will release 50 to 60 % of applicants who applied in Jan & Feb"

Don't be upset & don't lose your hope !
Just don't get frustrated!

I have a very hard time believing that an employee would be allowed to tweet stuff like this. They have strict confidentiality regulations, and they can't promise this stuff, especially if they can't deliver.

vb123, any idea from your gcms what could be taking so long? have you got your MP involved? your over the 10 month timeline so you should be able to contact the NDVO and ask for a reason for the delay

Guys... Im a 2013 Applicate, and this strike does not seem like a good sign at all.. here is what i been reading upon, and it seems like there more worried abt lossing money on tourism and student visa.. instead of reuniting families..

Highly targeted and rotating walkouts at embassies and consulates with some of the largest visa processing operations have caused a backlog that could have tourists waiting up to 90 days for visas — a delay that could hurt this summer's tourism business to the tune of $280 million, said David Goldstein, president of the Tourism Industry Association of Canada.

The 1,350 foreign service officers, represented by the Professional Association of Foreign Service Officers (PAFSO), began a rather low-key strike in April, which has since escalated to include sporadic withdrawal of services at some of the busiest embassies in such cities as Beijing, Hong Kong, Shanghai, New Delhi, Chandigarh, Manila, Mexico City and Sao Paulo.

PAFSO is one of the smallest and least militant of the 18 federal unions, but its unprecedented strike has become the longest-running labour disruption in years. The union has also targeted pressing international files and ministerial travel, though the visa slowdown has proven the most disruptive.
