Hello,
I am sponsoring my husband from india and he doesn't have a birth certificate.

What replacement documents can he provide and where can he get them from? will grade X certificate that shows his DOB suffice or I need a notarized affidavit prepared?

okay so for members who were worrying on strike etc... NDVO has approved few applications... congrats to those who got their visa... also my wife got her PPR thursday evening IST. the wait game starts for me now..

he can get the birth certificate from Civil hospital. 10th grade certificate will not be work out..

Dear pc23,
This is very simple procedure your husband can get birth certificate. If you he is residing in Municipality area , ask him to make an application to issue a birth certificate to collectorate , // If he is residing in village ask him to make the same application to Tehsildar , then he will make a note on you application and forward it to municipality secretary of that perticular area. He will issue that certificate .

Thanks for your reply. The problem is that his birth was never registered when he was born. Will an affidavit not work??

how do u send an enquiry.....can u pls guide me....the problem is that at least u got your mail saying u got SA and file is transfered to delhi i dont even have that...all i know is that my file is still hatchin eggs in canada after gettin SA..cic asked me to call bk on monday and they will then do enquiry...i just have to wait now

okay since you havent got SA letter itself...i would advice you to call CIC again and tell them your issue.. check with them how they sent the SA letter by email or mail etc... call them they will help you with that...once you get the confirmation then only you can send enquiry to new delhi as you need the file number of both sponsor(uci) and applicannt

doesnt the file no and uci come in the AOR LETTER?
I called cic they said letter was mailed on 15th may....and said to cal bk on monday then they wld arrange another letter i suppose

oh yeah... you would have got ur spouse applicaiton number starting with letter "F" in aOR if then send a case specific enquiry to new delhi by following the link

in this page you will have section "ENQUIRIES" in that click the link to case specific enquiries and fill in all the required details...
