Hi

My wife applied for our spouse visa on 13 march 2013.....application received on 19 march 2013 and she's been approved as sponsor on 12 April 2013.....been told that case has been transferred to New Delhi....any idea about how long will it take now?

What I heard for spouse case from 6-10 months.. Could be less if your paperwork is in order and nothing is missing.

I am a newbie here. Just want to let you know that this forum has helped me gain a lot of information, I thank you and the others for all the information shared. Given below are the details of my application. I am the principal applicant, my husband submitted this application to Mississauga office

Application Sent - 4th Jan 2013
Application Received by CIC as per tracking - 7th Jan 2013
Started processing the application - 24th Jan 2013
AOR (if any) - Not sure about this one. Whether you are asking for the AOR my husband received(Don't know about that) or the one I received (Btw I received the AOR on 9th March in which they had asked for my Passport to be sent to them)
Sponsorship Approval - 13th February 2013
Medical requested - Letter dated - 24th Jan 2013 received by my husband on 29th Jan 2013
Medical done - 4th Feb 2013 and was received by CIC Delhi on 11th Feb 2013
Passport requested - 9th March 2013
Passport sent - 9th March 2013
Passport received by CIC delhi - 11th March 2013
Current Status as on 15th April 2013 - Awaiting PR

E-cas: We received your application for permanent residence on January 7, 2013. Medical results have been received. (Its been the same for little over a month now.)

At this point I don't have any questions as all of my concerns were addressed in this forum already which has left me feeling relieved. Guess all I have to do is to join you'll in the waiting game. Would keep you'll posted of any further developments.

@ tahsin : can i apply for a tourist visa again when my pr is in process? will i be granted with a trv ?

Have patience, don't do this mistake ! I am going to write a big post on the TRV thing soon. But trust me, it's not worth the trouble.

Could somebody answer this for me...

When they request for the passport .....
How will they communicate....
send a email to both sponsor and the Principle appicant ...
or just to the sponsor ..or how...

This thing is breaking my head...I am sure you guys who got it may explain this

I am the principal applicant and in my case I was the only one to receive the email asking for my passport. My husband who has sponsored me didn't get any kind of communication. Hope this helps. Good luck with your application.

Can any one confirm is her birth certificate is MANDATORY or if only school marksheets(5th 8th and 10th and 12th) will suffice?
she has a birth certificate but it is in HINDI.

and also, we will provide only Xerox of all supporting docs like birth certificate, school marksheets, passport, etc.
Please confirm.

Hello capri_can, birth certificate IS MANDATORY. I believe there are provisions for alternatives but it ONLY apply for special cases .. for example i believe many people in india born before 1960 didn't have birth certificate..or something like that .so it applies for such cases (I am sure u don't belong to that category)

Also, if its' in Hindi, get an attested English translation and submit the original translation. The Xerox vs. original for various supporting Documents is clearly stated in the Immigration Guide on CIC's website.. please refer the same.

I had a quick question and hope someone can help me with it. When I went through this forum I noticed that some applicants had their status updated as "In process" at some point of time of their procedure. Mine had never said "In process". Is this normal? or does that mean that they have sent the PPR but have not started working on it or what? Would appreciate if someone can shed some light on my situation. Given below is my timeline.

I am a PR and filing family class pr for my wife who is in India.

Her DOB on her birth certificate do not match to DOB in passport.
Then can we just skip the birth certificate and just put school certificates instead?

Also, no one is accompanying her to Canada. does she need to fill the following forms?: It is not clear is she still has to complete the forms for each of her family members even if they are accompanying her or not.:

Additional Dependants/Declaration (IMM 0008DEP) - This form is completed by you, the principal applicant, if you have more than five (5) family members.

Schedule A - Background/Declaration (IMM 5669) - You and each of your family members 18 years of age or older must complete their own copy of this form.
Additional Family Information (IMM 5406) - You and each of your family members 18 years of age or over must complete their own copy of this form.Additional Dependants/Declaration (IMM 0008DEP) - This form is completed by you, the principal applicant, if you have more than five (5) family members.

i paid the fees online using my credit card and i got the receipt number generated (all using my card number and address in canada)

the receipt has a section called PAyer information

Name : Dob and client id
all the above mentioned are empty in the the receipt.. is this correct?

after taking print should i fill the information with my name or wife name?

Just fill it in with your Name and details, since you are the Sponsor and made the payment. Also, I believe only you would have the UCI ID, since you are in Canada. I did the same and my app is already processed

thanks hm82... i did found that we need to manually fill it in cic site...but thanks for clarifying whose details... since i am the payer i am filling my details... hoping for the best...
