I am just curious to know where they are in the process. I'm not stressed about it or anything, just curious. I just wish they were more transparent about the process. For instance it would be nice to see on E-cas when they start security check or something. I just hate the not knowing.

We all wish the same my frnd...

That is actually not true. You need a visa and it is only good for 6 months. You need to leave the country to renew.

Unless you are OCI then live forever

Thats why you order GCMS notes, which has that info

Yes or a PIO, which I am, and even that is only good for 15 years and I have to renew.

Yes I know someone commented that I shouldn't order them unless we are over the processing time of 10 months. But I am just curious, I want to know if our file has even been looked at.

LOL yes jk45 is right.. there is no place for emotions.. it's all about Power and Money. If at all they want to end this strike soon it is because of the Money they are losing each day, not because people want to unite with their spouses!

There is no rule or law stops you from ordering these notes...you can request as many times as you like...But if we know we are with in the time limit and there is a strike going on.. there is no sense ordering them at this point but at same time there is no harm.

i would order them if it has

- crossed my time limit
- i know there could be issues with my file like second marriage, criminal background, previous rejections
- i have not received any response from NDVO where others have.

During the normal processing periods it takes about average 2-4 months but with the strike going on people are waiting since March after they sent their passport to NDVO.

You get 2 each month for gcm notes?? can i just do that online somewhere so they send me once per month without having to apply every time for them??

I was told that OCI expires when your passport expires. It is not automatically transferred to your new passport. You have to apply for a new one. This was a problem when Indian government passed immigration laws (last year, I think) but not sure if they fixed that glitch.

Nope, I have OCI stamped on old passport and have new Cad passport, I travel with it, no issues - option to switch to new passport but not required + OCI has its own passport like book
