My application for my wife timeline
Medical test - 11/5/2013
Application received by CIC - 20/06/2013
Approved as a sponsor - 26/7/2013
Passport requested on - 4/9/2013
Passport submitted - 29/9/2013
Additional info requested feb 16/2014
Submitted May 10th/2014

The reason the additional information was not filed in Febuaray is because we did not find out CIC requested it until I contacted our MP, he was the one that told me that additional information was requested, but my lawyer said they did not get the email, it delayed our process without a doubt. Now cases after us are getting VISA and we are left behind, anyone got any words of support because my wife and are frustrated beyond belief

o common w2e, you know technically they cannot deny a visa without interview,
the only scenario i can imagine is a criminal applicant, if there is a serious crime that has not been disclosed in the application and they find it in checks, application could be rejected without interview and if this is the case, I don't think they will be silently doing it, they will ask for relevant docs to tell you they gonna screw your application.
Otherwise, 100% sure he will get a visa.

yes 100% sure he will get it but as some economist remarked 'only thing that is 100% sure in life is death and taxes'

We have a similar case, my husband called CRA and they confirmed according to T4058, he was not required to file return n we mentioned it in a cover letter with T4058 clause, n they didnt ask for NOA.
in ur case you can either inform that you are waiting for assessment letter or wait for 2 more weeks because I think you would be receiving it very soon, 1st time filers get NOA in about 8 weeks.
If not there is an option of getting a sealed letter from CA with return details and a letter mentioning that you are waiting for NOA and this is the proof of return.

actually I am out of country from 2011 to jan 2014

CRA said they provided me only 2010 notice of assessment.

because I paid tax of 2011-2012-2013 in april 2014

so it take long time to get lastest assessment.

is there any other alternate for that?

Hi Akhil, Hang in there. We know this can get frustrating and the wait is unbearable at times. I am a March 2013 applicant still awaiting my passport with the visa. One and a half years since marriage and we are still in limbo. All this coz of a badly managed process. Don't worry - Has your meds expired?

Hi guys,

Yesterday night, i got a query in mind. My marriage was in Sept, 2013 with very less number of guests. My husband was in India for a month at tht time. We filed application in October 2013. My husband visited India again in January ths year and we went sikkim and this time he was in India for approx 1.5 months. We also had a party at that time. Do you think, we should send sikkim photos, and party photos to NDVO now? I am not sure if informing NDVO now will have positive effects or it may delay the process. Pls guide.

when you got married and your husband stayed in India for a month did you both go somewhere for honeymoon or trips locally or internationally? did your guests include your parents and his parents and families on both sides? If you had included photos from trips after marriage and parents present at the weddings, you are safe...it is not number of guests that matters..it is whether parents/siblings/close relatives were present or not..in some cases if people get married against parents' wishes, they need to show strong documents to prove that marriage was genuine...I am not sure sending additional documents would delay the case or not....

Yes, after marriage we had been to trip and we had submitted the photos as well. Both parents were present with broad smile on their faces as well.
My concern was if we should actually inform CIC about my husband trip to India and show some photos of that time, If it will have an added advantage.
