Please share your thought. DO NDVO penalized our application for writing them emails.I am thinking to travel home and just wanted to let them know about it. I have wrote 3 emails already hope my email will not deny/ delay my application. THis waiting is just frustrating now I want to go home....

Good Luck everyone NDVO is closed today due to holi so no updates... HAppy HOli

I do not think that shall matter too much. But why do you need to inform them that you (the sponsor - I assume) are travelling back to meet your spouse?
I (the sponsor) actually have went back to meet my wife and we spent quite some time together. Do you think I should also inform CIC/NDVO about that?

Dont worry, they will not update passport received in E-CAS. I am a July applicant as well and mine says the exact same thing. The only way to confirm is through GCMS notes, where they have an "incoming" section that lists the documents they have received.

I am sorry to hear of your loss. I do not think that we need to inform anyone about our travels. But I just saw another post saying that we are not supposed to leave Canada during the process. I am not sure at this moment. Maybe others will have a better answer.

Hey guys,

Just to tell you something that it does not matter if you go to visit your spouse. You don't need to tell NDVO that you are coming to visit just be care full that you can stay only for certain time as I also recently went to visit my spouse. The time is 3 to 4 weeks if you are a PR and no time limit if you are a Canadian Citizen.

hope this helps.

Hi Amar,

someone on this forum mentioned that GCMS notes would contain what documents they have received.
I am very much in the same boat as you are.

In my case, App received: July 3, 2013
Since then, the status is 'Application Received' under which there are two lines same as yours. We sent the passports in July 2013.

Yes. Frustrated :(

Good luck and prayers

Hi.. I am in India as well.. I sponsored my spouse in September. But before coming I called cic and they told me i can always go on a vacation as long as it's less than 6 months and if ur spouse gets their visa between that time u guys can come together. B'cz 6 months or more is not considered a vacation. That's what i knw. Correct me if someone has more info regarding this. Anyways I am staying in India for 4 months before I go back.

Hi to the members on this forum u all great help iam a new member here but I have been following this forum daily for the past. 6 months I sponsered my husband from india on july 15,2013 now I have emailing my lawyer for any update but they can care less about it so Iam wondering according to all the senior members here when can I expect any updates ecas only shows file received on july 15,2013 nothing else

Some members in forum said that we have to inform CIC that we travelled to India. But when I went in November I called CIC and they said we don't have to inform them regarding our visit. We have to inform them only if there are major changes like change in address or some thing like that.

Even though I got laid off twice, CIC said that I don't have to inform them about this changes !

you are right...my lawyer and cIC said no rules say you cannot stay longer than 6 months...no need to tell NDVO if you don't have a job; became bankrupt; somebody died etc...only things that are required are change of address and if sponsor wants to withdraw application or divorced; and telephone number changes...other than that no need to inform anyone...
