Wow! That's good! How many months to get an Indian PIO?

It took about 3 months! On the website for Ottawa high commission it was written 2-3 weeks, but I guess for spouse application they need more time as I don't have any family member Indian (blood related). Their only proof they had to give me the visa was our marriage certificate... But I got it!!! Sooooo Happy!!!

Utsav, It is still with me.... waiting for NDVO to ask for it again....

But when they ask for the passport they send a letter written......

PLEASE RETURN A COPY OF THIS LETTER WITH THE REQUESTED DOCUMENTS.
Documents and passports must be submitted in a SINGLE package. Do not submit any
documents and passports until you have prepared the entire package.

SO Why are you waiting for them to again send a passport request I think you are open to send your passport at any time.

is not it?

I submitted my wife's passport for visa on Oct/3/2013. When shall I expect to receive it back?

My wife is travelling outside India in the end of Nov/2013. What's the process of getting the passport back whether stamped or unstamped?

Thanks

there are things in life that you can control (eating, sleeping, working, etc) and other things you can't (sunrise, sunset, traffic jam, two year olds, NDVO making decisions, etc) so go with the flow..this is what I pray when I get frustrated and make sure to keep sharp objects away from me

Lord (ND visa office master/god/mother earth), grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of those people I had to kill because they pissed me off!

Hey Hey Hey...quick reply needed from experienced. I got this email from NDVO just now. I could not understand it because my english is not good. Some background info- i have paid two-way courier service to DTDC (just like VFS or Blue Dart). I got email from DELHIIMMIGRATION @ international.gc.ca....the body looks like this...

As of February 1, 2013, the Canadian Cooperation Office in Kathmandu can no longer forward immigration documents on behalf of the High Commission of Canada in New Delhi. As a result, we are unable to return your passport to you via the Canadian Cooperation Office (Kathmandu).

Effective immediately, visa applicants in Nepal are requested to either:

contact the VFS Visa Application Centre in Kathmandu (http://www.vfs-canada.co.in) to arrange for return of your passport; or

provide a mailing address in India to which we can send your passport and documents by registered mail.

We request that you comply with this request within the next 30 days so that we can return your passport.

Sincerely,
Immigration Officer

What is my next step???

hi suban my wife also got the exact letter from NDVO on Oct 1st and she went the next day to VFS Kathmandu and they asked to make a draft payable to them for NPR 1220. Please make sure your wife takes that letter and a copy of her passport. My wife also paid 2 way courier service but that doesn't matter. When we submitted that letter to VFS my ecas status was In Process usuallly it takes 15 business days for VFS to get the passport back from NDVO if the ecas is already decision made. My wife's ecas changed to Decision made on october 31st and the same day ndvo dispatched her passport to vfs kathmandu but because of diwali vacation she still has not received the passport yet hopefully she will receive in couple of days.

congrats the wait should be over in couple of weeks now:)

many pages ago in this thread, someone had mentioned that his relative worked for consulate and she told him that about 1000 temporary workers were hired all over the world to clear the backlog..I assume only china and india would have many applications and I wonder why they did not place most of the temp workers in these two countries to clear the backlog...
