I am landing as a PR from USA \ however I am returning to NYC for 6 monthsnto fulfill my work contract. Should I apply for my Ontario license next week when i land or wait until June?
Does it need to be done in a specific amount of time that you must apply to exchange your license?

Wait until you return, as you haven't settle permanently, you have only "landed"

Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
After you move, you have 60 days to exchange your license. However, you aren't moving now, just landing. Therefore, you can wait until you come back to stay.

Thank you. I was a bit confused landig vs moving. Thanks for clearing it up!
Before you come back for permanent living, get drivers abstracts for NY. If you can prove at least 2 years of driving history, each exchange for full G license in Ontario. Also, get a letter of experience from your insurance company on your car in the US to bring with you. This will help to ease your transition to getting Canadian insurance, and also should help keep your costs more realistic. That is of course presupposing you don't file a claim every 6 months with them and get nailed for speeding every other week. In that case, I suggest a full on name change :D

Good luck!
