i am nepali citizen working and residing in India for long time. In some of the application forms for spousal sponsorship application, there is a question on 'status' of principal applicant in the country where applicant is residing. Options are citizen, permanent resident, worker, other, refugee and protected person. Any idea which one would be the most appropriate one? Is there need for any legal paper for Nepalese to work in India?

Why not choose the Option that best describe your situation in India........whatever option you choose, will advise you include the document to support your status.........and if you are OUT-OF-STATUS, choose "Other".
  • Your immigration status in that country (indicate one of the following):
    • Citizen
    • Permanent resident
    • Visitor
    • Worker
    • Student
    • Other
    • Protected Person
    • Refugee Claimant
    • Foreign National
For out-of-status applicants:
  • Under “Status” select “Other”
NOTE: If your Sponsor is approved to Sponsor.......Your application will be approved based on the validity and genuineness of your marriage/relationship........so don't get too worried about your Status in India.........just provide the required documents in the Checklist to support your application.
