Hi all is there anyone can tell me if I can apply my spouse visa application outland even im in canada?
And also can anyone tell me where to find an open work permit application? Please do share your ideas with me.

Thank you

If it's an outland application, I am not sure that OWP is available. I think that's for inland only.

You cannot have OWP for Outland.

Hi,
I understand if I can not apply an OWP if I applied my PR Application outland. How about applying outland even if im in canada. Cuz I think outland is way faster than inland apication.can I do that or I really need to do inland cuz im within canada?

I think you can do outland if you wish...

Hi zardos, can you give me the form number for an open work permit application? Do you know how long to take to get my open work permit when I apply aling with my spoise visa application?

Old work permit is void. You can use the new work permit to continue that job or find a new job if you like.

Keep in mind if you apply to a Visa Office outside Canada, there is no open work permit option. Don't waste money applying. They won't give it to you.

Great response amikety.. so what should I do, should I apply inland and get my open work permit then? For how long is the open work permit gonna be if you have any idea?

A lot of it depends on which Visa Office you would use for Outland, because some are very fast. It also depends on your case and some amount of luck.

OWP from Inland comes in 6-7 months if you apply and pay the fees with your PR application.

I would start by checking your home country's designated VO. Check the processing times on CIC's website. Keep in mind, the time posted by CIC is the time it takes 80% of applicants to finish in, including those who finish faster. For example, I use the Ottawa VO. It's posted time is 12 months, but I've seen people as fast as 3 months with most taking 7-8 months overall. I only know a few who have gone over the 12 months, mostly from confusion with other offices closing.

Okay, I assumed they are going to issue the applicant an open work permit once the sponsor passed the sponsorship qualification, am I right? Im going to apply inland im just goping everything is gonna ne good.I have one chold in philippines that I included in my application.

Inland is processed differently than Outland. Stage 1 is a prelimary check on both people from what I understand. Stage 2 they do a more in depth check including relationship genuineness.

Manila VO has a fairly fast time. You should look at that and also look at the pros and cons of each process. For example, it's not recommended you leave Canada during the Inland process. That would be 14 months you are unable to go visit your family in the Phils.

Hi amikety, did you ever mentioned that I can also apply outland while iam in canada?how does it work? I know you have lots of experties on this matter please if you can share more your ideas with me.im getting confused now.

Please read the very first post in the Spouse Sponsorship thread by Leon. It's pinned to the top of the Family Class forum. It describes it all in detail. You can apply Outland while INSIDE Canada - you just need to maintain a legal status, so if your work permit runs out, you would need a new work permit or change your status to visitor while you wait.
