Need urgent help

Hi all,
I came to Canada on my study permit and I did a diploma in Computer Programming. I also have an engineering degree back in my home.I worked in a restaurant as server.Now my employer is willing to give the cook position.But I dont have any culinary background.I meet the duties mentioned in NOC but not the employment requirements.
Do I need to meet the employment requirements too?

Duties are what matter, that's it. And of course being a qualifying NOC (A, B or 0)
