What are your reasons for seeking asylum?

Being unable to afford tuition is not grounds for asylum.

You don’t “need” to seek asylum in Canada. You can seek asylum in the US, which is the first safe country you have entered. That’s how it works.
No guarantee of a study permit in Canada as a refugee and you’ll still pay international fees.

Do you even understand what asylum means? Here's the dictionary meaning of asylum:
the protection granted by a nation to someone who has left their native country as a political refugee.

If you do not even know the case you are presenting then Canada will also reject your claim. Asylum is not easy to get. You must have good evidence of the danger on yourself. How can you prove that you are in danger in your home country if you have lived in the US for 5 years? Hire a lawyer. I don’t think you know how much a failed asylum claim will affect you whether you claim in Canada or the US.

Given that you have been out of your home country for 5 years it will be very hard to prove that you are being persecuted. Getting asylum is not an easy process you actually need proof many are denied. You also won’t qualify to study in Canada unless you pay international fees. It doesn’t sound like you are an actual asylum seeker so you’ll end up being deported from Canada. Filing for asylum and getting denied asylum has longterm consequences for your ability to travel, study or work all over the world. There will be fears that you will not leave other countries so visa denials will be likely. Claiming asylum should not be considered lightly.

Why not consider economic immigration instead of trying to take a shortcut which involves abusing Canada's refugee system and also inflicts long term damages to your future travel or immigration ability?

if you don’t think your case is strong then you will be rejected. you will be deported to your home country and it will then become extremely difficult for you to apply for temporary visas to any country that shares information with Canada.
