I am a US citizen who came to visit my wife in British Columbia for the summer. I got here in May and have a TRV valid until september 2015. We found out she's pregnant so we have sent in our paperwork for sponsorship. I have been trying to find work here to I can support the family but have realized employers will only hire me with a positive LMO. Seems like the employers don't want to wait the 5-6 months for that process. Is there any option for work here without LMO? Can I take any job offer and flagpole? I don't want to go back to the states to work and leave my family. ..so are there any options for work permit without LMO? Any jobs that don't require a LMO?

Thank you for your time

There are some possibilites for professionals to obtain one year work permits under the NAFTA agreement.
