Need some good advise?

Ok guys I need your valuable advise,I am from Karachi and I recently applied for Canadian visa and received my medical on 17th Nov but due to heavy rush I received my DMP appointment very late its on 29th Nov, now since my class are starting from Jan 9th 2012, i am very much confused whether I'll be able to make it in time, I heard that visa offices usually go on leaves after 20th Dec for Christmas and new year holiday.

Also I am currently doing a job and I am confused whether to resign on not, If I resign at this stage I don't know whether I get the visa or not, on the other hand If I do not inform my office that I am planning to resign they might hold my provident fund and deduct amount from it as a penalty because its in our company policy that we need to inform at least 1 month before resignation.

So i need some good advise on this, what should I do................................ :-X :-X :-X :-X :-X :-X :-X

Brother i think you will get visa InshALLAH before christmas holidays.

and if not you should not bother about leaving job without notice. you can give 1 day emergency notice.. and i am sure once you have visa you wont be really caring about deposit money at your company..

Hey Fahad,

I think the notion of "Christmas Holidays" is wrong. Atleast in India CHC has only 3 days off during Christmas ie 25th, 26th and 27th and I suppose it shouldn't be any different at CHC Islamabad.

Usually Medical call means Visa approval and it comes in about 15 days after submission of the result, which should be by/around 15th December for you.

I won't be able to comment on the resignation part as its your call although if you can take back the resignation within this one months notice you can go ahead and put it.

I'll answer your question step by step as I am currently in the same situation as you.

1. You should'nt resign now as you are not sure about your visa. You should stick to your job till you get your visa to be on the safe side. You'll get your visa in time inshaALLAH.

2. Im also currently working and as per company policy, I'll have to resign with a 2 months notice period! If otherwise (in case of a resign with immediate effect or a few days only) there will be deductions as per the policy. I suggest that if thats the case, you should not worry about a few bucks (or maximum 1 salary and that too for the month you wont be able to spend with the company).

You should consider the priorities at this stage. For you, your visa and canada is the priority and you're already have sufficient funds for your studies and living there. A month's salary or deduction of a few thousands from your provident fund (though is a loss) is manageable.

You win some, you lose some dude! .. I've made up my mind to resign as soon as I get my visa. And will obviously get clearance done from the company before I leave. I know they'll deduct my 2 months salary but still. VISA + CANADA!! InshaALLAH.
