Hey there,

I was permanent resident of Canada for about a decade but then decided to go back to my home country a year ago. My PR card has expired. I REALLY need to go back to Canada to finish some unfinished business but starting to freak out I won't get a visa. What are my chances? I want some reassurance/tips/hear the cold hard truth lol.

TIA

If you were legally in Canada (as a PR) for ten years and have only been absent from the country for about a year then you are still a PR of Canada, even if your PR card is no longer valid. If this is the case, you just need to apply for a travel document from the nearest Canadian embassy or consulate.

Best of luck to you.
