Hi All,

Please help me to understand my eligibility and chances in getting PR under CEC/FSW, here is my situation.

As of now I am on open work permit (My spouse is an international student in Quebec),I was also working in Quebec in Skill level A category, now I got job in Ottawa on the same category and I am relocating alone to Ottawa as my spouse got 8 more months to complete the studies in Quebec.

Now I am eligible under CEC and my points are approx. 465 (including my spouse), as I am now outside of Quebec I thought I should be good for CEC/FSW, but I heard from someone that my file may get rejected because my spouse is still in Quebec (actually my spouse gonna join me in Ottawa as soon as exams are completed), so someone please help me to understand this in better way, and thank you for your time and support, appreciate it.

Yes you can apply under CEC. You need to convince IRCC that you both will eventually live outside of Quebec. Since you already have a job it's easy to prove.

the fact that you are relocating already is a good sign, and it makes perfect sense that your spouse will join you when she finishes. Your case should be relatively easy to prove that you intend to settle outside of Quebec.
