Hello, I'm doing Masters in Canada and need help with study permit extension. My study permit expires on March 31st, 2016. I am enrolled for 4 courses this term and I still have one more course to do which I am planning to do it in the winter term 2016. I'm planning to do it part time since i will have to pay lesser tuition fee. I will be paying 2000$ for part time where as 8000$ for full time. I have several queries relating to this..

- when is the right time to start the application process? I read that it takes minimum a month to process. But I dont wanna risk doing it in the last moment. Can I apply even now??
- Being enrolled part time, will that affect my profile and chances of getting extension?
- Which is better, online application or paper?
- I failed two courses during my program, will that affect my application?
- Is it just enough to submit whatever documents they have mentioned or should I add more docs to improve my chances? If yes, what are they?
- How much of bank balance should I show?

I dont want even the minimum chance of getting rejected. Please help me with this. Thank you very much.

I don't think so you need all of the above mentioned documents.

1. You can only apply for extension when your status is due to expire within 4 months. So wait for another 1-2 months.
2. Get an enrolment letter from your university stating time period of your program.
3. Apply online and fill out all required forms.
4. Check attached link above for more info.
5. Contact student advisors of your university, they will be glad to help your regarding your application.

Good luck.
