Actually having family memebers in Canada is a nagative sign for your application, you must do extra hard work to actually prove that you will return to your country of Origin after you finish your studies within Canada. Of course she can be your official sponser if she is earning an income over there.. But if she is not enrolled in an employment or she is not able to financially sponser you than maybe its not an good idea to actually ask her for any help..However, when you will be filling you application you will actually have to disclose the information that your sister is living in Canada right now.

If your mother's sister is not sponsoring you or anything, you better not mention about her anywhere.

Oh ok sorry for misinterpreting your question. Yes definitely she can sponsor you but icecool said, showing/getting sponsor from someone from Canada might have negative impact (not always!) on your application since it can make VO think that you might be not return back to your country. Obviously you have the scope of showing your country tie like properties, parents, job, etc. Just remember, as long as you have good intention and proper documents, you will always get the permit

Yeah but just as a precaution, it is good to make a strong SOP and to make sure that you state your plans after your canadian education..Your right, good documents can always change the outcome of any visa application.
