hello guys,

I'm an Ontario resident living in Quebec. I'm sponsoring my wife to Canada.
I have a question which is DO I need to submit the form IMM5481?
Because this form indicates that sponsor living in Quebec do not need to complete?

thanks!

How long have you been living in Quebec? And in what sense are you a 'resident' of Ontario?
If you are planning to live in Quebec with your wife once she gets here, you don't need to submit that form. If you are planning to go back to live in Ontario, then you do.
In either case, attach an explanation of the situation to the application.

Thanks canadianwoman. I have been living in Quebec for one year. before this I lived in Ontario after I came to Canada. I'm a university student now. I'm planning to go back to Ontario with my wife after I graduate.
I wonder what kind of the explanation should I submit? I mean how can I explain exactly the situation.

When will you graduate and when do you expect your wife to get here? If she will be living in Quebec for a couple of years after she gets here, you should use the Quebec forms. But if she will be going to live in Ontario as soon as she lands, use the regular forms for the rest of Canada.

I will graduate in the middle of next year. Then I would like to work in Toronto. and thus I expect my wife to live in Toronto too when she lands. In this case, I should use the regular forms , right?

Use the regular forms and attach an explanation of the situation.
