I filed my study permit at VSF NewDelhi for January uptake. My application is still under process and My course starts by today 3rd january and the university tells me to deferr my start date to spring/summer 2017. Now my question is
1. Do i have to apply another study permit application?
2. Do i submit an letter from the university which as deferred start date?

Dear folks let me know your suggestions.

-If I were you, I'd go for spring/summer intake as you need some time to settle first.
Rushing things isn't wise

-and yes submit that letter to avoid negative outcome

That's my opinion and ask others as well

Yildiz

Thanks. So you mean i should submit the deferral letter before i get the outcome of current application which is under process?

If it is possible go ahead.

And again ask others' opinions not just here message them

CHC will return your passport along with a deferral request form. Then, you will have to submit passport + deferral letter (a new LOA) + deferral request form back to the CHC. No need to repeat the application process.

Thanks J5M. My study permit application is currently under process a the Canada visa office in New Delhi,, but the course has already started by today 3rd January and my supervisor told me I can not be late for more than a week.(or else to defer the admission date) My concerns are,
1. If the Canada visa office process my visa application within this week and when they find out that the course has already started, what will happen?
2. If I chose to defer my admission to May 2017 intake what additional documents do I have to submit?
3. What would be the best option? To submit an addition document to defer the admission or Just Wait for outcome of current application and the instructions?

1. If it's not orientation but actual start of classes, CHC will ask you to submit a letter of deferral (means a new LOA).
2. Only a new LOA.
3. You won't get visa right away for the next term, it will be too early. CHC will give you a specific date to submit a new LOA along with Passport.

hi,
Generally any college / university will always accept 2 or 3 weeks of late arrival due to the delay in visa process.
So you can contact the college and request them for some more time. there will be some acceptable time limit for a late arrival.

Also wait for the on going process, if u get ur visa in this week, will u prefer to join in summer intake just for the delay of 1 week?
Think abt it.

I have already discuss about running 2 to 3 weeks late for the program but my supervisor told me to deferr the admission date to may 2017 intake. I am hoping they may accept joining 1 week late.

I got an email from a my university to defer a admission to fall 2017, september 2017 intake if i do not get visa within this week. Incase if i don't get visa within this week, what should i do next. Do i have to reapply for visa for september 2017 or just submit deferral admission letter to the current visa application under process???
