hi

i am getting 69 points according to the calculation. i am applying as primary applicant. does my husband needs to give ielts or will it be okay if he doesnt give. as he has not got early dates to apply before dec 2014

please help

Its not necessary but it will give you additional 5 points.

Correct

If he gets 5 - 6 band score too, then You get 5 extra points.

Though you don't need those points, so feel free to apply with or without his IELTS Score.

as such there is no priority given to a person with higher points ....But addtional points
can be handy if for example you had included 6 yrs exp in your point calculation and visa officer feels it should be 2 years...

If you are sure on your calculations than go ahead. There is no difference in a person having 90 points and 67 points. Points are just an evaluation criteria but not a hard and fast rule. its more of your overall profile which matters. CIC want to make sure that you should be financially successful in Canada and CIC accept that points are no surety that there evaluation criteria is perfect. That's why they have substitude evaluation where a CIO officer may forward your file even if you have less than 67 points or may refuse even if you have 100 points.
