Depends on the refusal reason

Not necessarily its whether your marriage is genuine that matters. Some slight advantage is that the paperwork will be deemed more bonafide...its easier for CIC to believe in a Canadian Marriage Certificate and the issue of proxy marriages is moot.

Yes I am...anything that indicates your marriage is not genuine including concerns over age gaps, language barriers, cultural differences.

I made a suggestion earlier that you will find things much easier if you head over to the family sponsorship thread which will cover all the queries you raise and process for those in a similar situation to you...this section of the forum is really for PR Obligations.
