Hi , I submitted spousal sponsorship application to CIC-M office at the end of April. Since then there is no correspondence received from the office. It is 2 months longer than the processing time described on the website. I don't know if it has anything to do with the ongoing strike. I started to get worried. I am a Canadian and currently live in China with my husband. So I can't call CIC as the toll free number works only inside Canada.Is it normal to take so long to get sponsorship approved? Anything else can I try except waiting?

Hi! Just a question did you send the documents to CIC-M with a tracking number? If yes then maybe you should verify with your courier if the package was actually received or not. I read from other forums that sometimes some applications were not actually received by CIC-M (it was misplaced or something by the courier). Hope this helps.scabbard1969 said:

This is where we sent our application. If you sent it to the wrong address then maybe yes you should send the whole thing again but here's the thing I assume you have photos and all other supporting documents included in your original package will you be able to duplicate all of those?
I didn't use the address of PO box as I mailed it by Fedex.I chose the one found out on the website for courier. same street, but different Suite. It is probably an older one.
I found out the difference just a couple of days ago. In the guide it is suite 300 but mine is suite 1200. I can't call CIC as I am outside Canada. Is there any alternative to confirm if my application is received with CIC office?

I think your best bet is to make an international call to CIC. Am not sure about the call rates from China to Canada though it might be costly I'm not sure. The call center will be able to help you answer your questions.
The number posted online only works inside Canada. I tried t and can not be through. Do u know any other number?
oh ... now im at a dead end on what to do next :-( maybe you got a friend in canada that can patch you in and do a conference? just a suggestion ...
