1. Invitation letter and any documents related to your host in canada.
2. Proposed flight itinerary, if any.
3. Hotel reservations, if any.
4. Proof of travel insurance, if any.
5. Registrations for events or programs you are planning to attend.

1. I dont have a host. my purpose of travel to canada is to visit my son, who is a minor living with his mom.(mom is now married to another man.)
2. no problem with this. 8)
3. I plan to stay at my friends house for 500cad per month. i am only staying for 2 weeks though. is this allowed? staying not in a hotel?
4. i believe we pay this when we purchase a plane ticket?
5. i have no plans of attending any event or programs..i only want to spend some time with my son, go camping for 3 nights maybe and visit places. ;D

Thank you jalex..follow up on number 1., can a minor be a host for someone applying for a TRV? i thought a host refers to someone who has a job and a house where a guest can be accommodated? i mean not a dependent/dependant. 3. do i need something in writing to prove that i am staying at a friends house instead of a hotel?

No, a host is where you are staying.
