Just in case I am wrong, I have sent them an e-mail. Thank you for finding that :) . Most jobs that I have applied for say "or equivalent" but hopefully the can respond so I know for sure that this is the equivalent! Thank you again!

You're welcome! Keep your head up. I just got a call for another interview. It's at WalMart. I don't want to work there either, but it's not fast food???? :)

Walmart is willing to get an LMO for you? :) good luck on the interview!

I don't know yet... I made sure to include the fact I need a LMO on my application. Hopefully they read it.

On the other hand, I also have direct experience in the job I applied for (customer service manager) with another big box retailer, so maybe they will decide I'm worth it.

By chance, are you going to live in a major city or smaller city/town? I've talked to people in towns that have better luck finding jobs just because there's more jobs than people in some of them. Major cities attract a lot of immigrants looking for a LMO because there's "more jobs." So more competition.

Honestly, we are open to anywhere and everywhere. Luckily my guy is in the Army and right now he can switch to any base he chooses so really it all depends on where I can get a job. We have talked about marriage many, many times before and since I've gotten no where with the job search we're wondering if we should just go to the court house and get married then have me apply for PR then maybe I can find a job....but nevertheless I have just applied to any and all job openings in the Ontario ish area from the walmart site :)

We would like to be no more than a 5 hour drive away from Rochester, NY that is where my family is. and within 45 min to an hr drive to a CF base. So really we are opened to anywhere! Any sites or tips would be appreciated (not that you haven't already! I just feel hopeless tonight!)

If you haven't checked Kijiji, do so. Www.kijiji.ca Type in "LMO" as the search topic. You'll have to wade through a lot of people begging for jobs. You can also post an ad for yourself - but this hasn't worked very well for me. (And I'm in Calgary, where the jobs are supposed plentiful.)

If your boyfriend has any friends or family that work in the restaurant business, have him talk to them and see if they hire TFW.

Are you still considering the nanny job or have you given up on that?

I have not given up on anything yet! I have apply to calgary and edmonton daily about nanny jobs, nurse attendant jobs, and even....walmart (now) lol we want to be in Ontario...but have expanded to Alberta because all I hear is how they need people there... seems like bull to me. and i'll try kijiji again. :)

Try this website:

www.nannyservices.ca

I've gotten a lot of interest from the site - except they all wanted someone with a car - or just didn't know how to read Calgary only..... hehe.

www.CanadianNanny.ca - I haven't had much success with this site, but it has a lot of jobs to offer as well. One annoying thing is it will automatically tell people you need LCP even if you're searching for live-out.

Be upfront about needing a LMO on nanny sites. No use wasting your time or theirs if they won't get the LMO. You can also advertize for nanny jobs on Kijiji. I've had recruitment agencies contact me that way as well as individuals (who all said they would consider a LMO then changed their minds, whatever!). I'm not very experienced as a nanny, however, mostly following that path at the advice of my family.

You could also try searching (google, yahoo) nanny agencies directly.

One more thing... finding a job takes time. Even at my best, it took me three months in the USA where I was allowed to work. Don't despair yet. I'm almost to a year and a half of being jobless in Canada - very annoying but it happens. Maybe it would be good to only job search 1-2 days a week. Designate those the job search days and put it out of your mind (unless you get a call) the other 5-6. Sunday night seems be a hot night for nannying, so refresh your profile Sundays.
