Hi Experts,

I am based in India and want to apply for Canadian immigration but have some doubts:

1. Shall I apply for Canadian Immigration through some consultant or on my own. Cause I know the process overview but don't know the minute things. I know hiring an consultant will include very decent amount of money but they can assist me in various regions.

2. If I should go on my own than how to know the NOC code under which I should apply. I have around 16 years of experience in PCB designing. I had searched through CIC website and tried to find the code suitable for me but I could not find the one. Can anybody tell me under which code I should apply and where can I find the job responsibilities for specific code.

Also I want to know if there is a good future in PCB designing in Canada or not. Any help would be appreciated.

1. It's up to you. If you don't understand the process, you don't have the time/motivation to look it up, and you can afford, hiring someone to assist you could be a good option.

2. Maybe you can find your NOC on this link:
http://www30.hrsdc.gc.ca/NOC/English/NOC/2006/QuickSearch.aspx?val65=designer

Thanks a lot luciano_ca for devoting time for me.

I have gone through that link before also but I could not understand which code suits to me most. Since in none of the codes PCB designing mentioned however Integrated Circuit boards are mentioned. I am not sure if it is the same as PCB design. Also I am very confused about two codes 2241 and 2147 as both of them includes design and development of electronics products but none of them mentioned PCB design.

The description of both occupations you can find here (Google is your friend) ;):

I still confused as PCB design has not been mentioned in any of them however circuit board designer and integrated circuit board designer is mentioned. Do you have any idea if PCB Design and Circuit board design is same?

Any body here have the same experience(PCB Layout Design)? Who have/had applied for Canadian PR. Any inputs on PCB Layout Design future in Canada would be appreciated.

I am very surprised no one is here who have PCB Design profile or I am in a profession which is very rare :o
