Need Help on NOC for IT Support Administrator

Greetings!

I am from India and working for one of the largest IT company in India. I am into IT Support Administration taking care of Windows, AD, VMware & Citrix Administration. I have about 10+ years of IT experience with my last 4 years being into that Core aforementioned Administration.

Recently i have decided to apply for the PR program for Canada and approached a consultancy. They requested me to take an Assessment test and gave me a list of NOC jobs under which i would fall upon. The closest i thought i would fall is NOC2147 - Computer Engineer and told them that i would fall upon this NOC. Few days back, the consultant guy gave me a list of "Roles & Responsibilities" for NOC2147 and asked to me verify if those Roles & Responsibilities are the ones that i would perform with my profile and asked if i could get them on a company letter pad and get it signed from my HR or Manager.

The "Roles & Responsibilities" that they gave me up was very very generic and it did not suit my profile at all...

Being into IT support (Windows /AD / VMware / Citrix), i would like to ask your expert opinions that which NOC that i would fall under and what are my chances to apply for this year's PR program with my profile...I would also like to know apart from PR program, what are the chances of getting a work permit visa process in Canada?

Do we have anyone on this forum working into the same field and support as me and have already applied and got the PR visa or applying for this year's PR program??

I don't think noc 2147 is the right noc for your occupation. It's more likely one of these:

FYI - there is no guarantee CIC is going to accept FSW applications based on a list of NOCs again this year. It's entirely possible they may hold off opening the program again until 2015 and the introduction of EOI. If CIC does reopen the program, there is no guarantee noc 2147 will be on the list.

It's typically fairly difficult to get a work permit for IT professions since there are so many qualified IT workers already here. But you can certainly try and some people are successful. Good luck.

Yes, i do see a title named "System Administrator" for NOC2281 and i will more likely be entitled to that profile.

Again, main duties that are mentioned for NOC2281 are very generic and i will speak to my consultant about that. I am planning to apply for this year's FSW program and i will check if this NOC2281 is indeed included in this year's CIC requirement.

I will come back if i need anything else...
