hello everyone,

My husband and myself has recently applied for express entey for canadian immigration. He is applying as primary applicant and i am secondary.

But my situation is as follows

I was granted canadian immigration in the year dec 1996 with my mother. She was sponsored under fiance visa by my step father. I was minor aged 16.

The relationship between them was unstable and they decided to seperate in 1998. I was pulled out of school and we returned to India.

My passport has a immigration surrender stamp.

My question is

1. can this cause me and my husband any issues while we are applying as new applicants through express entry?
2. Is there a way i can reapply for my immigration as my parents decision was imposed on me to leave Canada. I wanted to stay back and pursue my education.

I'm not sure what an "immigration surrender stamp" is.exactly.

If your PR status was officially revoked/renounced back then, it should have no impact to your current PR app in progress.

No.
If your PR status was renounced/revoked, then it's gone. It is not possible to re-instate a PR status like that. You would only be able to apply for PR again under some new way (like your'e doing now).

If your PR status was not actually renounced/revoked and you're still a PR, then this would add more complications to your case as you wouldn't be eligible to apply with your spouse for his PR. Also since you're too old now to use the "removed as a minor" excuse, you also probably couldn't use your previous PR status even if you did still have it.

Thanks Rob_TO for clarification.
There is a "DELI" stamp on my passport and on it there is a handwritten note saying immigration surrendered
.
Also, Please let me know if there is a way to check if my immigration was renounced or revoked? Because Now it is impossible for me to check with my step dad if he took the necessary steps.
