HELLO EVERYBODY ..
IAM NEW TO THE FORUMS ..

I HAVE SOME QUESTIONS IF ANYBODY OUT THERE CAN HELP ME ..GREATLY APPRECIATED.

I will be applying under CEC category this April end , started April 1 2013
I work for a retail store (Cell phones)its a private corporation with 15 stores at the moment, as store manager .

1. My ielts score is 6.5 as i got less in reading 5.5 rest all are over 6.5 n 7.
can i still apply as a store manager, with less bands in reading ??

If not then,

2. My boss is open to help me out if any other designation works for me he would provide me the letter.
I graduated in wireless networking so i was wondering if i can go ahead and get a computer network technician letter NOC 2281 ,will this justify the business i am in currently which is a retail store who deals with cell phones ,repairs ,unlocking ,accessories buy and sell phones and plans.
Can a computer network technician work for a retail business is it justifiable (Please help me with this ) or
if you guys can suggest something in this case what should/can i do. :(

Just to let you know all the stores have computers with POS and all of them are connected over the net and remotely, there is a server running in the back end to run the companies website and wireless cameras with dvrs .So as far as i think retail business needs a technician but iam confused .
(if you guys can give some ideas as what can i mention in the letter related to the business n networking which makes total sense reading.

4.My PGWP expires this year NOV 2014 ,DO I GET AN LMO OR WILL I BE FINE WITH CEC PROCESS
ANY SUGGESTIONS .

Thanks in advance for any of your suggestions.

Your marks are equivalent to CLB 6 (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/cec/language-testing.asp). This is good enough for a NOC skill level B occupation, but is not sufficient for a NOC skill level 0 or A occupation.

What's your actual job/duties? Does your work permit specify a NOC?

If you are NOC 0621 "Retail and wholesale trade managers" then this would be NOC level 0.

If you are NOC 6211 "Retail sales supervisors" then this occupation currently does not qualify for CEC.

As for how to misrepresent your job duties I have no idea.

HELLO
THANKS YOUR UR PROMPT REPLY
ITS 0621 STORE MANAGER .

IAM NOT ASKING FOR ANY MISREPRESENTATION ,I AM JUST ASKING OR HELP FOR ANY OTHER OPTIONS/SUGGESTIONS IN MY CASE OR ANYBODY WHO HAS SIMILAR SCENARIO OR EXPERIENCE .

Fair enough. Your best option is to take IELTS again, or CELPIP. For your NOC level you need CLB 7 or higher, which for IELTS means a score of 6.0 or higher in each of the four abilities. So if you improve your reading slightly you will be safe.

IAM JUST WORRIED THAT MY WORK PERMIT EXPIRES NOV 2014
I DONT SEE ANY DATES ANY TIME SOON

THAT WAS THE ONLY REASON I WAS LOOKING FOR OPTIONS IN NOC B CATEGORY REGARDING RETAIL INDUSTRY.

If you'd like to go ahead and apply under 0621- you must retake your IELTS and get at least a "6" for all four sections.

Seems like your almost there - just a few more practices and you'll be fine!

Where are you located? - When push comes to shoves - you might have to travel and take another test. if getting a PR is important for you - travelling/spending money might be worth it for you in the long run.

If you don't want to do that - best you can do is find a NOC B position that has similar job duties - you'll have to spend some time and go through the NOC list - since you work permit is a PGWP , it's not tied down to a specific job -

Or you can go and try with CELPIP, maybe they have more rooms available for testing

Oh Yes! - forgot about CELPIP :)

Hey man,

I think you should apply under NOC 2242, electronic service technician, if you are working with electronics, in addition to that its class B which is good for your English requirement.

That would be misrepresentation, which is not advisable. If you're having trouble with the IELTS, try the CELPIP. You have plenty of time to do this before your work permit expires.

Its not misrepresentation, if he is doing retail and works on electronics, if his job duties matches NOC 2242 I don't why he would apply for that. I only suggested this if he work on cellphones fixing, cleaning, etc..

If the OP were to claim NOC 2242, then he/she would have a different problem: the work permit and the job don't match. Which is why the safest route is to re-sit the language test and get a mark good enough for NOC 0.

Never mind, I just saw PGWP which means it's open. But I'm still concerned about claiming duties that aren't really what the OP does.

hello guys thanks for your suggestions i appreciate .

My work permit is open .
My job duties are not limited to store manager.

I also give a hand if a new store opens up with all the setups(computer hardware ,software, inventory management ),training new hires, . Yes i do repair phones and unlock them .

Its just that Iam running short of time and dont want to go for ielts again .

To apply for OPNP , what kind of documents do i need from my employer .(specific once)

Thanks once again guys for your help.

You need to pick an occupation that you primarily work as. It's either the store manager or the technician. Which one is it that you work as most of the time? If it is the store manager and as others have pointed out, your language test results will not be sufficient to support your application. In which case, you will have to retake your IELTS or write CELPIP test.

Since you have technical expertise, I think it's normal as a store manager to help out in 'technical difficulty scenarios' because as a manager you are responsible for ensuring that a business/department runs smoothly. This is just my personal opinion, however you need to decide which occupation it is that you primarily work as.

Please check http://www.ontarioimmigration.ca/en/pnp/OI_PNPSTUDENTS_APPLY.html for more information on Ontario's PNP.

P.S: If you want to immigrate to this country, why do you want to start off on a fraudulent note? Misrepresentation can lead to serious consequences and jeopardize your chances of immigrating to Canada.

Good luck!
