Need help for PR outside Canada

Hello all,

After reading the old threads, it seems many people approximately received the sponsorship approval letter by postal letter within a month or less before CPC-M transferred the application/case to the designated CIC offices.

Since we have submitted our PR application to CPC-M, (Family Class: Spouse applying outside Canada and processing through Sydney, Australia once sponsorship part is approved) we have not received the sponsorship approval letter nor any status appeared on e-Cas yet (we use R numbers stating on IMM 5401 receipt to track it). It has been 5 weeks now that we have not received or seen anything yet. Would you please advise if I should contact CPC-M or CIC office in Sydney in this matter?

As I (Canadian citizen) has been living outside Canada with my wife, would you please tell me the phone number that I can call CPC-M or email address (outside Canada)?

We mailed our application on May 4, it was received on May 6 and on June 14 they mailed us a letter that we got on June 19. Ecase didnt open up until the 19th either.

It took about 4 extra days from when they mailed the letter and we received it in the US than it took for people with the same approval date whose letter only had to go to other parts of Canada.

When did they receive you application?

We mailed app on May 18 from Sydney by Fedex (We checked with Fedex if our app could be sent to the PO box address in CPC-M, and they did allowed here in Australia). Then, CPC-M received it on May 20.

I didn't see you on here so forgive me if I just missed you and you have already seen this- there is a thread for May applications

I am pretty sure they are still working on the week just prior to May 18th so you are still in line with what everyone else is experiencing.

I called this number 613-944-4000 (option #1, 2, 1, 2 - then I believe I pressed 0) but it was very hard to get through, I had to call repeatedly and most often got a message that no agents were available and to try again another time.

The first time I got through on June 7 (my app is May 6) they told me that I was not in the system.

The second time I got through on June 14 they told me they were not even processing my date yet and to call back in 3 weeks. I begged the woman to check because CIC had called me the week before in response to a fax I had sent back in May. When she looked she said I was in the system and had been approved that very day - It was just over 5 weeks and it still took almost a week more to get my letter and ecas become active.

My personal feeling is that it was a waste of my time (isnt hindsight great) to call so much - my phone bill is huge- when it really is taking about 45 days to process =(

I suspect you will hear very soon, maybe even a letter early next week (keep in mind the post takes a week to get to the US and probably much longer to AU)

CPC-M has just come down to about 45 days processing from close to 60. It's been a busy couple of months for them as they were, for a long time, processing in an average of 30 days. You're fine - you'll hear soon. Their processing timeline shows they're up to May 14th.

Hello May applicants,
I felt good to hear that they are processing close to 14 May date, however my ecas shows in Process since early May and still did not hear from them although they have my full package, medical, and PC. So i would say they are still processing early May which is first week of May. hope for us all May applicants to hear from them soon.

Thanks for your replies, guys. For now, we have to wait until next week and we hope we will hear/receive the sponsorship approval letter soon by next week. If not, we may have to call CPC-M.
