Hi,

I am planning to apply PR in Canadian Experience Class. Just one month back I came to know I am a diabetic. How it will effect to my medical?

I heard they are checking for syphilis, HIV and tuberculosis in the medical exam.

I want to add one of my friends case here in Canada .... he was suspected to have TB (answering a medical questionnaire) which was baseless. All medical reports were negative. But just as a precautionary measure, the Doctor has asked him to go through the medication for 02 months (Take medicines).

He has filed his CEC application, got AOR and waiting for MR. But he is very tensed with his Medical Exam because of the TB tag attached to him. He has still not started the course of medication suggested by the Doctor thinking about the impact it could have on his CEC Medical Exam.

Any suggestions ? Please share your thoughts..... (Senorita).

True. However, depending on one's past medical history, tattoos, piercings(other than ears) & drug use other tests may be required.

Since the OP is diabetic, the DMP will probably request some records from the physician that made the diagnosis and would need to know if the condition is being controlled adequately with medication or diet, etc.

@ Andy2109:

If a physician has recommended taking medication for 2 months, I think it's in his best interest to follow suit. There must have been some reason to warrant a physician to prescribe a prophylaxis.
