Need help for Form 5708

Hi all,

I have applied for Express Entry (FSW). My current PGWP expires in May. I will be applying for extension of my visitor status (visitor visa which will allow me to stay on here after May till a decision is made on my Express Entry application).

In filling up Form 5708, I have 2 queries -

1. Question 3 - "I am applying for one or more of the following" :
a. Extension of my temporary status
b. Restoration of temporary resident status as a visitor
c. Initial temporary resident permit or extension of temporary resident permit

I'll be choosing option a. Is this the correct one?

2. Purpose of visit - I will have to choose "Other" from the options given but I'm not sure what reason to provide. Is "stay here till a decision is made on my Express Entry application" a valid reason or is there any better option?

"Visitor visa" and visitor status are two different things. You cannot extend your visitor status, as you currently do not have one to extend. You wish to extend your stay as a visitor, which is different.

You have to write the reason for your stay, not the one that is better.

"stay here till a decision is made on my Express Entry application" seems accurate.
