hi,
i am a Canadian citizen, sponsoring my husband from India. i have been a student till now and have no work history in last 5 years we sent our application on january 23, 2012 to CIC Mississauga and they received on 26th. I did not submit option-c form with my application because i didnt file my taxes for last two years (bcoz im out of canada) so i attached one letter explaining reason for not providing option-c. i sent my bank statements to show my financial ability to support ourselves after getting his PR. I am living with my husband on tourist visa for last one year and we are still together waiting for his visa in India.
i got 5 years visa for India. my questions are:
1. will they accept letter instead of option-c.
2. can it create any problem if sponsor is out of canada?
3. how long background check will take, if applicant has been out from India for studies for one year in UK. ( we submitted police clearance from both countries)
4. i put some of my supporting documents(support letters from family) with applicants forms (in separate package). will they open applicants packege in mississauga or not??
:o :o

Yes.

In this case you have to show that you will be moving back to Canada. IF you didn't include evidence of this in the application, you can send it to the visa office once it has received the application.
3. how long background check will take, if applicant has been out from India for studies for one year in UK. ( we submitted police clearance from both countries)
It will make the background check take a bit longer, but exactly how long no one knows.
4. i put some of my supporting documents(support letters from family) with applicants forms (in separate package). will they open applicants packege in mississauga or not??
As long as you sent both the sponsor's forms and the applicant's forms together to Mississauga, this doesn't matter. The whole package stays together for processing.

thanks for your reply! yes my bank statements were included only in sponsor's application but should they be included in applicant's also? they show my financial ability to support my husband and proof of my intention to come back to canada ($300 000 in savings with investment and interest income, although a small amount).

NO or not all application!! there r forms in the sposor part (the sponsor questionnaire) which is abt the relationship which will b studied by the VO....I think Missisauga sends the whoooole thing since they already have it in their system what they needed....

Both parts of the application stay together, so the sponsor's application and anything you included with it will also go to New Delhi. CIC checks the sponsor's application in Mississauga, but it is also looked over in New Delhi, so the ND visa officer will see your financial statements.
