Hello everyone,

Thanks a lot for reading my query.

I am from India and started working at the age of 18 in Jan 2001. I worked for Multi nationals till March 2005 and then picked up freelancing work as I was fed up of the Job profile I was employed for more than 4 years in BPO. I worked as freelancer and petty jobs from March 2005 till June 2010 and then due to financial reasons decided to pick up a job again.

Sectors I worked in.

2001-2005 (Bpo Sector)
2005-2010 (Insurance and Real estate)
2010-2014 (IT sector)

Currently, I am working with Multinationals from July 2010 till now and while researching for Canada Immigration I found that they need employment history records for last 10 years. Now, I have the relevant documentary evidence for my employment except for the time I was working as freelancer. Since its almost 4 years so I am not able to get hold of old contacts to get some reference to justify the work experience.

I know that that I would not be able to claim the points for work exp. when I was working as freelancer as it was not for the same sector for which I would like to apply as a federal worker. But I need some clarification on whether I need to furnish a proof for the freelancing employment even if I don't want to claim points for the same. If yes, then what all documents are acceptable by authorities.

I hope I am able to clarify my question.

Thanks

Since you do not care about the points for that period of work where you were freelancing and you will not be able to furnish any documentary evidence - just prepare a sworn affidavit and attach a cover letter explaining your situation. There's only so much options you have at the moment.

Which NOC are you intending to apply for ?
