Hi Vidhi,
Try logging in Kijiji.ca or Craiglist.ca. They will have listings of houses along with rent and features. You will get some idea about the terms that they use and the approximate rents etc. There is also a site called prepareforcanada.com which conducts regular webinars on housing. All this should help.
Initially for a week you may want to take a hotel in safehomestay or studio 6
