I got visa on Sep 8. I received my passports,landing papers and original documents. the problem is most of my certificates, reference letters are missing.How can I get back from consulate. pls advise thanks

If more documents are requested by London office for example, will they use an e-mail or by post?

they can use any of the mediums but most probably email (if u have provoided one)..
