NEED ADVICE: Relocating to Canada via Family Sponsorship (In Canada)

Hello Everyone!

I hope someone can give me an advice regarding my current situation.

I've been living in the UAE since 2010 and lost my job last August. I've been trying to find a new employment but the job market is not doing very well. I'm currently on visit visa here in the UAE. My husband is also working here in the UAE for more than 2 years, he is a Canadian citizen (naturalized).

We are planning to move to Canada by February next year if I won't be able to find an employment here and process my permanent residency in Canada as well. So my question is:

I currently have Canadian Visit Visa expiring in 2019 and travelled to Canada last December 2015. When I visited last year, the immigration officer at the airport asked common questions like the purpose and duration of my visit. Since we are planning to process my permanent residency there, am I actually legally allowed to tell them that I plan to permanently stay in Canada and my husband will process my permanent residency inside Canada?

All suggestions/ answers will be helpful.

i would advise against using the words "permanently stay". As a pr applicant, you do NOT have the right to stay permanently in canada until your application is approved, and you could very well cause yourself many problems at the border suggesting you plan to stay permanently when you don't have the right to do so yet. It is better to say "i am here to visit my husband while my pr application is processing". that language is perfectly acceptable and rarely leads to entry problems.They may ask you to provide proof of ties to your home country, and it's usually recommended to have a return ticket within 6 months of entry. Remember, as a PR applicant, you are only allowed to "visit" canada, unless you have a visa that specifically states otherwise (work or study). Also, CBSA generally will only allow visitors to enter for up to 6 months. It is CIC that will approve your stay for longer, through an extension application.
using the wrong language at the border can trigger a denied entry, something you really don't want to deal with.
