Hello everyone,

I am planning on applying via EE, but unfortunately my crs is only 430 and the cut-off has been in the 440s. I am currently in Canada on a PGWP, but it expires in 6 months. What are some ways I can improve my score in this short amount of time, other than writing the IELTS?

Thanks!

Try the CELPIP instead?

1. LMIA

But ielts is the best option... I have taken more than 15 ielts exams to increase my crs score. With my 1st ielts the score was 396, and after the last ielts, I’m on 441. Hoping for an its soon. DONT LOOSE HOPE.

Good advice above.

Also, you need to apply now. The longer you are in the pool the better especially if you plan to improve your scores.

Thanks everyone for the advice. By valid job offer, I assume that means LMIA? I’ll look into that, and try doing more English tests.

Why is it better to apply now? Just in case the cut off decreases? How long would I be in the pool for? Sorry for such a loaded question!

You’ll be in the pool for one year. If score drops to 430, they’ll provide ITA on the basis of date of submission of profile. If the profile gets expired after one year, you can create a new one without any hassle.

Ahh okay, thank you very much! Last few questions:

Might be a dumb question as no one might know, but are there trends of the crs dropping? And do you have to pay to enter the pool? Or is that after the ITA? Also would I be able to update my application halfway through, just in case I receive a better mark on my IELTS?

Application is free to submit, you can and should update it if your situation changes. If you receive ITA, you will have 2 months to prepare documents such as proof of funds, police clearance, job references. The fees are paid at the time of submission e-apr

1. I’m afraid there are no certain trends, they always surprise us.
2. No, creating a express entry profile is free, one have to submit the fees post ITA.
3. Yes, you can update the information anytime.
